Fridays are for going to the park

Sometimes Jordan and I forget that we have an angel baby and she usually just lets us pack her up and cart her anywhere we please. We have never had to leave somewhere because shes been crying or fussy. She actually really likes to be out and about. I think she likes the action of the world around her. Basically, she's perfect and we love her.

So yesterday we went to the park. We grabbed ourselves some subway sandwiches, water bottles, a blanket, and a cute baby and plopped ourselves right in the middle of the park ground. What a treat it is to have such beautiful weather right now! We felt totally spoiled.

Oh, and Jordan made it very clear when I told the Subway worker that I wanted extra banana peppers, I really meant EXTRA banana peppers. For some reason I get too nervous to tell them twice that I want more. But Jord will do it for me. So my sandwich was pretty darn delicious.

Lu LOVES to be thrown in the air!

 Little squishy.

 Just basking in the sunlight.

I love that little gummy grin!

And then a kind lady came over and took a picture of all three of us!

Thank you, Utah! We love this weather!

Toothache

Jordan and I have been babysitting Matthew and Lauren while my parents are out of town. Even though we are babysitting it actually turns out that I'm the one that gets babysitters! Matthew and Lauren are so darn sweet and want to hold Lucy all the time. So, I never have a baby screaming on the floor wanting my undying attention. She gets incredibly spoiled!

We have been having a fabulous time with them, until I had my dumb tooth start acting up again. My previously root canaled tooth has been hurting me off and on over the last 9 months or so. Honestly, I would have gone into the dentist sooner if I thought it was a serious problem. But, my tooth was always hurting whenever I woke up and so I just assumed I was grinding my teeth in the night. And within a couple of days my toothache would be gone! It wasn't until I woke up with a bad toothache a few days ago and I saw an abscess on my gums that I realized I might have a problem.

When I went into the dentist they sent me to an endodontist. There they took x-rays and discovered that I had a large amount of my jaw eaten away by infection. Guess those darn roots still had a problem. (Even though this was bad news, in a way I liked hearing it. I knew my tooth had really been hurting! It was validating in a way. "You're right Mad, your tooth was hurting. You can tell by your missing jaw bone." Ha.)

So, the doctor numbed me up, cut away my gums, and cleaned up all the infection. I was left with a terribly sore mouth. And told not to eat on that side for a few days. Basically, I look like I'm hiding a ping pong ball inside my right cheek.

But, I'm lucky because I've got the sweetest hubby and a couple of kids that I'm "babysitting" who are really taking care of me! ;)

4 Months

Luc seems to be growing up so fast, yet she is still our little teeny-tiny bean-- coming in in the 32nd percentile for weight! Her head on the other hand... is HUGE. She can thank her Papa and Pepa for that!

Lucy found her hands this month and they seem to always be in her mouth now. We can take them out if we quickly replace them with her beloved binky.

She has the brightest little personality. Her smiles melt my heart. And we love that they are getting easier and easier to get out of her.

Bath time is still a favorite. However, when I lotion her up and get her dressed afterwards it is always a complete melt-down. Every single time. I don't especially love getting out of a bath either, but really? It's intense.

She is our sunshine in this winter weather!

Morning photoshoot

Since having a baby around, mornings have become my favorite time of day. Lucy wakes up so happy and wants to play. We cuddle and laugh and I try to breathe her in as much as possible. Time seems to be going by so quickly and if I think too much about it I'll just cry. So I try to enjoy every second of my mornings when my baby is so unbelievably sweet.

 The sweetest hands.

 My favorite bald spot.

Isn't she just dreamy?

3 Months

Our babe is starting to smile! She reacts to Jordan and I when we talk to her and her cute little personality is making its entrance.

She seems to be getting lower on the height and weight percentiles each time we go to the doctors. She is gaining weight as she should, she's just a little one!

Lu still likes to sleep in our arms. I'm lucky if I get 30 minutes of nap time after I've set her in her crib. Some training is going to have to be done. But let's be honest, I'll take any excuse to cuddle this sweet thing.

The Rollover

I am the worst at forcing Lucy to do tummy time. She hates it, so therefore, I hate it.

But I've been trying to be better because it makes me feel dumb when the pediatrician asks if we've been doing tummy time.

"Yes, but we could do better."

"We're trying, but we should probably have her do it more."

"Ummmm.... she's done it a little bit!"

So I put Lucy on her tummy and decided to grab the camera. I literally turned around and when I looked back down she was on her back.

I questioned whether I thought I put her on her tummy, but really put her on her back. So I flipped her back over only to watch her rollover!!

I freaked out and called Jordan. Did you take pictures or get it on film? Ummm.. no...

Even though I'm holding a camera.

Luckily she did it 2 more times so I could get documentation.

I got so excited it made her cry!

Lucy's Blessing Dress

My mom is absolutely amazing and surprised me by making Lucy's blessing dress! She told me about it just in time for me to pick out the color of roses I wanted on the dress. It turned out stunning to say the least. Talk about spoiled rotten.

THANK YOU MOM!

I had to take some detail shots of it because the pictures from the blessing day just didn't do it justice.
